Step 3:
Start creating:
Use several loops and organize them in different ways
to create variety and originality within your composition
and start creating. To obtain the best results use
conventional songwriting formulas (intro, verse, chorus,
intro 2, verse 2, chorus 2, bridge or breakdown followed
by a final chorus that would usually fade).
Experiment with arrangements:
For example, an intro will
usually be sparse with just a hook and a break down
beat but no bass, bring in the bass on the verse bringing,
but drop the hook so it does not interfere with your
melody or rap, bring back the hook and the full music
track for the chorus etc. Use a different drumbeat
for the breakdown or bridge etc. Avoid using 2 different
bass line or too many hooks simultaneously as they
may interfere with each other. Remember, simplicity
makes good music… Use your ears!
For best results:
Always drag your selections
to the same starting point. Once you are more familiar
with music loop editing start experimenting with half
and quarter loops. Use your music recording software
to change the key of your song or to fine tune the
tempo.
